Toronto Film Studios (TFS) operates Canada’s largest film and television production facility on the subject property comprising 18.6 acres at 629, 633 and 675 Eastern Avenue. The studio lot, which was created by the adaptive re-use of buildings formerly occupied by Toronto Iron Works and A.R. Clarke Limited, houses 240,000 square feet of sound stages, production offices, wardrobe, carpentry and other shops. TFS also owns the Cinevillage studio facility at 65 Heward Avenue. In total, TFS operates 360,000 sf. of production facilities in South Riverdale.

South of the studio lands, the City of Toronto is proceeding with plans to rejuvenate the Port Lands, including the creation of a major Film/Media Complex. Toronto Film Studios is the winning bidder and will eventually move its studio operations from Eastern Avenue to this new complex – providing our city with Canada’s most exceptional film and television facility.

TSF and its parent company, The Rose Corporation, have submitted an application to the City of Toronto outlining a Master Plan for the creation of a mixed-use extension of the South Riverdale Community, called The Foundry District. TFS has established an outstanding team of architects and planners to bring the most current and innovative urban planning principles to the plans for this neighbourhood regeneration. In co-operation with City planners and Ward 30 Councillor Paula Fletcher, TFS is working with local community groups and residents to ensure an informed, decision-making consultation process for The Foundry District.
